For most of us, searching the Internet is kind of like breathing. We know there’s a bunch of stuff that happens when we inhale — oxygen at a certain percentage in our atmosphere, tiny little capillaries in our lungs, oxygen and carbon dioxide molecules actually moving through tissue walls — but very few of us could actually sit down and draw a flowchart. It’s a pretty important process, but one we take for granted.

In the same way, there’s a lot that has to go right for us to get back the results we want when we type in a term and click Search. While you don’t have to be an expert to have a website, it’s a good idea to know at least the basics. And who better to turn to for an explanation than…Google?
